Index distribution of Cauchy random matrices [PDF]
Using a Coulomb gas technique, we compute analytically the probability $\mathcal{P}_ ^{(C)}(N_+,N)$ that a large $N\times N$ Cauchy random matrix has $N_+$ positive eigenvalues, where $N_+$ is called the index of the ensemble. We show that this probability scales for large $N$ as $\mathcal{P}_ ^{(C)}(N_+,N)\approx \exp\left[- N^2 _C(N_+/N)\right]$,

Cauchy Single-Valued Neutrosophic Numbers and Their Applications in MAGDM [PDF]
The neutrosophic sets and numbers have an important role in modeling the problems. Recently, studies on neutrosophic numbers and single-valued neutrosophic numbers which is a subclass of neutrosophic numbers have increased, rapidly.

Advanced Cauchy Mutation for Differential Evolution in Numerical Optimization
Among many evolutionary algorithms, differential evolution (DE) has received much attention over the last two decades. DE is a simple yet powerful evolutionary algorithm that has been used successfully to optimize various real-world problems.

Evidence for a normal distribution of normalized gains
Recently Burkholder et al. argued that class normalized gains over the entire population of courses is approximated by a Cauchy distribution, not by a normal distribution, and therefore should not be used to compare different classes because means and ...

Fault Detection in Distribution Network with the Cauchy-M Estimate—RVFLN Method
Fault detection is an important issue in today’s distribution networks, the structure of which is becoming more complex. In this article, a data-based Cauchy distribution weighting M-estimate RVFLNs method is proposed for short-circuit fault detection in

On the Skew-Normal-Cauchy Distribution
In this article, we study further properties of a skew normal distribution, called the skew-normal-Cauchy (SNC) distribution by Nadarajah and Kotz (2003). A stochastic representation is obtained which allows alternative derivations for moments, moments generating function, and skewness and kurtosis coefficients.

Lévy Flights Diffusion with Drift in Heterogeneous Membranes
The modelling of diffusion in membranes is essential to understanding transport processes through membranes, especially when it comes to improving process efficiency. The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between membrane structures,
