Computational Investigation on the Combined Effect of Applied Strain and Pore Configuration on Strain Concentrators in Additively Manufactured Metals

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metal additive manufacturing (AM) provides a pathway for creating highly optimized components that would be difficult to produce using traditional manufacturing methods. However, regardless of printing parameters or postprocessing, porosity remains a prevalent challenge in AM components because strain concentrates in the vicinity of the pore ...

Identification and Estimation of Large Network Games with Private Link Information

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the identification and estimation of large network games in which individuals choose continuous actions while holding private information about their links and payoffs. Extending the framework of Galeotti et al., we build a tractable empirical model of such network games and show that the parameters in individual payoffs are ...

Fixed Points and Stability of the Cauchy Functional Equation in -Algebras

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2009
Using the fixed point method, we prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of homomorphisms in -algebras and Lie -algebras and of derivations on -algebras and Lie -algebras for the Cauchy functional equation.

The Real and Complex Techniques in Harmonic Analysis from the Point of View of Covariant Transform

open access: yes, 2014
This note reviews complex and real techniques in harmonic analysis. We describe a common source of both approaches rooted in the covariant transform generated by the affine group.

Estimating Velocities of Infectious Disease Spread Through Spatio‐Temporal Log‐Gaussian Cox Point Processes

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Understanding the spread of infectious diseases such as COVID‐19 is crucial for informed decision‐making and resource allocation. A critical component of disease behaviour is the velocity with which disease spreads, defined as the rate of change between time and space.

A Tutorial on Conducting and Interpreting a Bayesian Independent T‐Test Using Open‐Source Software

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To demonstrate a worked‐out example of a Bayesian independent t‐test using open‐source software, simulated data, a hypothetical nurse education intervention and a randomised controlled study design. This tutorial explains relevant Bayesian concepts and highlights literature that provides statistically principled justifications for ...

Dream habits in a large cohort of preteens and their relation to sleep and nocturnal awakenings

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary The present study examined dream habits, and their relation to sleep patterns, in 1151 preteens (597 boys; 554 girls; 11.31 ± 0.62 years old). Dream questionnaires assessed the frequency of dream recall, nightmare, and lucid dream, as well as the intensity of emotions experienced in dreams. Sleep variables included sleep duration and efficiency,

The Cauchy Integral Operator on the Predual of a Morrey Space

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
We show that the Cauchy integral operator is bounded from (the predual of a Morrey space) to (the local version of ). To prove our theorem we will introduce generalized atoms and consider a variant of "Tb theorem."

Tensor Changepoint Detection and Eigenbootstrap

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tensor data consisting of multivariate outcomes over the items and across the subjects with longitudinal and cross‐sectional dependence are considered. A completely distribution‐free and tweaking‐parameter‐free detection procedure for changepoints at different locations is designed, which does not require training data.

Empirical‐Process Limit Theory and Filter Approximation Bounds for Score‐Driven Time Series Models

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the filtering and approximation‐theoretic properties of score‐driven time series models. Under specific Lipschitz‐type and tail conditions, new results are derived, leading to maximal and deviation inequalities for the filtering approximation error using empirical process theory.
