On Stability and Superstability of Some Generalized Cauchy Functional Equations

open access: yes, 2014
In this thesis, we study some importants facts on Cauchy functional equations and we study the stability and superstability of some generalized Cauchy functional equations. We study the Hyers-Ulam, Th. M.

Remarks on the Conditional Quadratic and the Conditional D’Alembert Functional Equations on Particular Normed Spaces

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
Let be a real normed space with dimension greater than 2 and let be a real functional defined on . Applying some ideas from the studies made on the conditional Cauchy functional equation on the restricted domain of the vectors of equal norm and the ...

Mathematical Analysis and Simulations of a Cancer Model With Interleukins and Delayed Immunotherapy

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A new system of delayed differential equations for tumor‐immune system interactions is proposed and studied. The system describes the interactions between tumor cells and the immune system at the most aggressive phase of cancer, where tumor cells have developed mechanisms from earlier stages to evade immune responses.

On a generalization of the Cauchy functional equation

open access: yesAequationes Mathematicae, 1992
The paper deals with the functional equation \(g(ax+by) =Ag(x)+Bg(y) +L(x,y)\) where \(g\) maps a nonempty subset \(P\) of a vector space \(X\), satisfying the condition \(aP+bP \subset P\), into a vector space \(Y\), and \(L:X \times X \to Y\) is a given biadditive mapping.

On restricting Cauchy–Pexider functional equations to submanifolds [PDF]

open access: yesAequationes mathematicae, 2012
The author considers the restricted Cauchy-Pexider functional equation \(f(x)g(y)=h(x+y)\) for complex-valued functions on subsets of Euclidean spaces. The functions are assumed to be measurable and non-vanishing almost everywhere. The main result is that if the functional equation is satisfied almost everywhere on a hypersurface which is nowhere flat ...

Linear Toroidal‐Inertial Waves on A Differentially Rotating Sphere with Application to Helioseismology: Modeling, Forward and Inverse Problems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

On the inhomogeneous Cauchy functional equation.

open access: yes, 1981
In this note we solve the inhomogeneous Cauchy functional equation f(x+y) - f(x) - f(y) = d(x,y), x,y belonging to R, in the case where d is ...

Fractional Moment Theory for Anomalous Transport: A Unified Framework for Lévy Flights, Fractals, and Complex Dynamical Systems

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We develop a unified mathematical framework extending classical moment theory from discrete integer orders to a continuous spectrum of real orders f>0$$ f>0 $$, providing a systematic statistical characterization of complex systems exhibiting power‐law behavior.

Application of the functional calculus to solving of infinite dimensional heat equation

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2016
In this paper we study infinite dimensional heat equation associated with the Gross Laplacian. Using the functional calculus method, we obtain the solution of appropriate Cauchy problem in the space of polynomial ultradifferentiable functions.

On the Existence of Solutions of Dynamic Equations on Time Scales in Banach Spaces

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper we address the question of solvability of dynamic equations on time scales in Banach spaces. In particular, our main theorem extends the result for classical differential equations in Banach spaces of Banaś and Goebel established in [5], to an arbitrary time scale.
