Subuniformity of harmonic mean p$$ p $$‐values

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We obtain several inequalities on the generalized means of dependent p$$ p $$‐values. In particular, the weighted harmonic mean of p$$ p $$‐values is strictly subuniform under several dependence assumptions of p$$ p $$‐values, including independence, negative upper orthant dependence, the class of extremal mixture copulas, and some Clayton ...

The Real and Complex Techniques in Harmonic Analysis from the Point of View of Covariant Transform

open access: yes, 2014
This note reviews complex and real techniques in harmonic analysis. We describe a common source of both approaches rooted in the covariant transform generated by the affine group.

Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

Some integral operators and their properties

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2016
In this study, some integral operators, which have broad applications in the theory of elementary particles and scattering, have been investigated in Holder space.

Degree theory for 4‐dimensional asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a new degree theory for 4‐dimensional, asymptotically conical gradient expanding solitons. Our theory implies the existence of gradient expanding solitons that are asymptotic to any given cone over S3$S^3$ with non‐negative scalar curvature. We also obtain a similar existence result for cones whose link is diffeomorphic to S3/Γ$S^3/\

From Differences to Derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A relation showing that the Grünwald-Letnikov and generalized Cauchy derivatives are equal is deduced confirming the validity of a well known conjecture. Integral representations for both direct and reverse fractional differences are presented.

Study on fracture parameter calibration and failure characteristics of rock with hole and crack

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The SIF and plastic zone equations for a single hole and crack have been derived. The model's failure state leads to the identification of four types of cracks. The plastic zone increases with increased brittleness and decreased crack length. Abstract Cracks within the surrounding rock of roadways significantly affect their stability and failure ...

Finite Element Modeling of a Thermoplastic Polyurethane Ball for Rolling Seismic Isolation

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Elastomeric‐Ball Pendulum (EBP) system, which consists of an elastomeric ball rolling on a spherical concrete surface, has been proposed as an isolation system for lightweight structures. Experimental tests have shown that the mechanics of such a rolling ball are remarkably complicated because the vertical load changes the shape of the ...

ON THE APPROXIMATION OF SINGULAR INTEGRALS

open access: yesSüleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Fen Dergisi, 2009
In this work we present an approximation for singular integrals of Cauchy type using a small technical in order to eliminate the singularity. This approximation is destined  to resolve numerically the singular integral equations with Cauchy type ...
