The defect diamond‐like material Hg3P2S8 (HPS) is systematically investigated using first‐principles methods to reveal the interplay between highly distorted HgS4 and rigid PS4 units. The HPS material exhibits a strong anisotropic second‐harmonic generation (SHG) response, favorable optical properties, and low thermal conductivity, highlighting its ...

The Euler Maclaurin expansion for the Cauchy Principal Value integral
Let \(Q^{(m)}f\) be the m-copy of the quadrature rule approximation Qf or \(Q^{(1)}f\) to the finite integral If having integrand f and interval [a,b]. For most rules Q and integrand functions f, \(Q^{(m)}f\) converges to If as m becomes infinite. For some Q and f, asymptotic expansions in m exist for the error functional \(Q^{(m)}f\)-If. The classical

Extrapolation Method for Cauchy Principal Value Integral with Classical Rectangle Rule on Interval [PDF]
In this paper, the classical composite middle rectangle rule for the computation of Cauchy principal value integral (the singular kernel 1/(x-s)) is discussed.

This study employs density functional theory (DFT) to investigate the structural, mechanical, electronic, optical, and thermodynamic properties of RbGaO2 and CsGaO2. The calculated band structures and band‐edge positions indicate semiconducting behavior and favorable alignment for photocatalytic dye degradation and hydrogen evolution, highlighting ...

An asymptotic expansion for product integration applied to Cauchy principal value integrals [PDF]
Product integration methods for Cauchy principal value integrals based on piecewise Lagrangian interpolation are studied. It is shown that for this class of quadrature methods the truncation error has an asymptotic expansion in integer powers of the step-

Evolutionary morphology of the haplorhine hamate
Abstract Primates adopt a variety of hand postures during an impressive diversity of locomotor and manipulative behaviors. Morphological research has found that elements of the hand skeleton, such as the hamate, hold key information for inferring hand use and locomotor kinematics in extinct species.

Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

A definiteness criterion for linear functionals and its application to Cauchy principal value quadrature [PDF]
Let G be a linear functional on Ak[−1, 1] (the class of all functions with an absolutely continuous (k − 1)th derivative), let ξ ∈ R and let G[ξ] be given by G[ξ][ƒ]: = G[(· − ξ)ƒ].
