The Existence of Moving Spike Patterns in an Attractive Chemotaxis Model

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We prove rigorously the existence of moving spike patterns in an attractive chemotaxis model with small diffusion coefficient for the chemical. In the zero diffusion limit, ϵ→0$$ \epsilon \to 0 $$, we prove that the non‐monotone traveling wave solutions of the system with ϵ>0$$ \epsilon >0 $$ converge to those of the system with ϵ=0$$ \epsilon

Approximation by ψ$$ \psi $$‐Baskakov‐Kantorovich Operators

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we introduce a new family of Baskakov‐Kantorovich operators that depend on a function ψ$$ \psi $$. We compare these new ψ$$ \psi $$‐Baskakov‐Kantorovich operators with the classical Baskakov‐Kantorovich operators to evaluate their approximation results.

A Mathematical Model for Allergic Reactions Induced by the Therapy of HIV

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A new mathematical model for cell evolution in HIV is introduced and studied. Delay differential equations are used to capture the dynamics of immune system cells involved in allergies, as well as the evolution of HIV viruses, infected and uninfected CD4+$$ {}^{+} $$ cells, and cytotoxic T‐lymphocytes, under specific antiretroviral therapy ...

Attractors for an Energy‐Damped Viscoelastic Plate Equation

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider a class of non‐autonomous beam/plate equations with an integro‐differential damping given by a possibly degenerate memory and an energy damping given by a nonlocal ε$$ \varepsilon $$‐perturbed coefficient. For each ε>0$$ \varepsilon >0 $$, we show that the dynamical system generated by the weak solutions of the ...

NExT‐LF: A Novel Operational Modal Analysis Method via Tangential Interpolation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Operational modal analysis (OMA) is vital for identifying modal parameters under real‐world conditions, yet existing methods often face challenges with noise sensitivity and stability. This study introduces NExT‐LF, a novel method that combines the well‐known Natural Excitation Technique (NExT) with the Loewner Framework (LF). NExT enables the

Closed‐Form Hypoplastic Solutions for Normally Consolidated Soil in Element Tests

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The hypoplastic theory has gained significant attraction in the geomechanics community for constitutive modeling and numerical simulation. However, the absence of an analytical benchmark for numerical simulations incorporating the hypoplastic model remains a notable gap. This study revisits the basic hypoplastic model for normally consolidated
