Sparse Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance for Feature Selection

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We propose a feature screening method that integrates both feature–feature and feature–target relationships. Inactive features are identified via a penalized minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevance (mRMR) procedure, which is the continuous version of the classical mRMR penalized by a non‐convex regularizer, and where the parameters estimated as ...

Bayesian Inference for Multivariate Monotone Densities

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We consider a nonparametric Bayesian approach to estimation and testing for a multivariate monotone density. Instead of following the conventional Bayesian approach of imposing a prior that satisfies the monotonicity restriction, we place a prior on the step heights via binning and a Dirichlet distribution. The resulting posterior distribution

A brief survey of complex analysis : from complex numbers to the residue theorem

open access: yes, 2019

The Huang–Yang Formula for the Low‐Density Fermi Gas: Upper Bound

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 8, Page 1919-1972, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the ground state energy of a gas of spin 1/2$1/2$ fermions with repulsive short‐range interactions. We derive an upper bound that agrees, at low density ϱ$\varrho$, with the Huang–Yang conjecture. The latter captures the first three terms in an asymptotic low‐density expansion, and in particular the Huang–Yang correction term of order

Multidimensional integral representations: problems of analytic continuation

open access: yes, 2015
The monograph is devoted to integral representations for holomorphic functions in several complex variables, such as Bochner-Martinelli, Cauchy-Fantappiè, Koppelman, multidimensional logarithmic residue etc., and their boundary properties.

Self‐Similar Blowup for the Cubic Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 8, Page 1831-1918, August 2026.
ABSTRACT We give a rigorous proof for the existence of a finite‐energy, self‐similar solution to the focusing cubic Schrödinger equation in three spatial dimensions. The proof is computer‐assisted and relies on a fixed point argument that shows the existence of a solution in the vicinity of a numerically constructed approximation.

Valuatuions and orderings on the real Weyl algebra

open access: yes, 2022
$\newcommand{\R}{\mathbb R} \newcommand{\rweyl}{\mathcal{A}_1(\R)}$ The first Weyl algebra $\mathcal{A}_1(k)$ over a field $k$ is the $k$-algebra with two generators $x, y$ subject to $[y, x] = 1$ and was first introduced during the development of ...

Synthesizing Interacting Model‐Based Optimal Control and Model‐Free Learning Approaches for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, Volume 36, Issue 10, Page 5619-5634, 10 July 2026.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we consider the optimal control problem for an unknown continuous‐time nonlinear system, and present a framework that integrates model‐based and model‐free methods to solve it. Each approach offers distinct advantages: model‐based techniques provide offline synthesis and data efficiency, while model‐free procedures excel at ...
