The Benjamin–Ono Equation in the Zero‐Dispersion Limit for Rational Initial Data: Generation of Dispersive Shock Waves

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 79, Issue 9, Page 2107-2157, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The leading‐order asymptotic behavior of the solution of the Cauchy initial‐value problem for the Benjamin–Ono equation in L2(R)$L^2(\mathbb {R})$ is obtained explicitly for generic rational initial data u0$u_0$. An explicit asymptotic wave profile uZD(t,x;ε)$u^\mathrm{ZD}(t,x;\epsilon)$ is given, in terms of the branches of the multivalued ...

Virtual Reality Mood Induction and Body Image Disturbance in Adolescents With Eating Disorders: An Experimental Study

open access: yesClinical Psychology &Psychotherapy, Volume 33, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Eating disorders (EDs) are severe psychiatric conditions characterized by body image disturbance, yet the role of affective states in the maintenance of body image symptoms among adolescents remains poorly understood. Virtual reality–based mood induction procedures (VR‐MIPs) offer a controlled method for examining how experimentally induced ...

Microscale FFT‐based modeling of artificial porous microstructures and analysis of macroscopic models under varying loading scenarios

open access: yesGAMM-Mitteilungen, Volume 49, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract This article investigates the modeling of metallic isotropic porous materials by evaluating and comparing macroscopic and microstructure‐resolved simulation approaches. At the macroscopic level, different variants of the Deshpande‐Fleck (DF) model are implemented to describe the elastoplastic behavior of metallic porous materials.

Mendelianization: Concentrating Polygenic Signal Into a Single Causal Locus

open access: yesGenetic Epidemiology, Volume 50, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Complex disorders such as depression and alcohol use involve numerous genetic variants, and implicated loci continue to grow with sample size. This proliferation hampers interpretability, as the mechanisms by which so many variants jointly contribute to pathophysiology remain unclear.

Amenability Constants for Unconditional Sums of Banach Algebras

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 9, Page 2472-2494, September 2026.
ABSTRACT We study Johnson amenability for unconditional direct sums of Banach algebras. Given a family (Ai)i∈I$(A_i)_{i\in I}$ of Banach algebras and a Banach sequence lattice E$E$ on I$I$, the E$E$‐sum ⨁i∈IAiE${\bigl (\bigoplus _{i\in I} A_i\bigr)}_{\!E}$ carries a natural Banach algebra structure via coordinatewise multiplication.
