Caudate Nucleus and Pain Modulation
Physiology, 1992The caudate nucleus has an antinociceptive function related to the opioid peptidergic activity of the periaqueductal gray. Intracaudate opioid peptides and acetylcholine promote acupuncture analgesia, whereas dopamine antagonises it.

Caudate Nucleus and Oculomotor Sequences
1994Single cell activity was recorded from the monkey caudate nucleus. The task performed by the animal tested its ability to execute motor and oculomotor sequences based on memorized information. In each trial, the monkey had to remember the order of illumination of three fixed spatial targets.

Caudate Nucleus and Electrocortical Activation in Cats
Acta Physiologica Scandinavica, 1961AbstractA 14‐lead electrode was used to search for areas in and around the caudate nucleus from which electrocortical arousal could be elicited. Electrocortical arousal was induced from the reticular nucleus of the thalamus and the internal capsule and, probably by current spread, from the fringe of caudate tissue adjacent to the thalamus, but not from

Visceral representation in the cat caudate nucleus
Neuroscience Translations, 19701. In response to stimulation of the splanchnic nerve, biphasic and multiphasic evoked potentials with relatively short (16–25 msec) and longer (30–54 msec) latent periods are recorded in the cat caudate nucleus. 2. Evoked potentials in response to stimulation of the splanchnic and tibial nerves and to clicks are not recorded from all ...
