Causal Attributions for Unemployment in Barbados
The Journal of Social Psychology, 1990The importance of various explanations for unemployment in their country was rated by 468 predominantly young people from the Caribbean island of Barbados. The twenty explanations provided, which were taken from other studies, showed a clear structure.

Psychological Reports, 1980A study was conducted to determine the relationship between attributions of causality for success and failure and behavioral prescriptions for improvement of a learner. Data showed no systematic relationship between attributions and behavioral prescriptions, contrary to currently popular attribution theories.

Theory & Psychology, 1999This rejoinder identifies a range of flaws in Schmid and Fiedler's (1999) analysis and critique of Edwards and Potter (1993), and highlights a range of unresolved problems with the `Linguistic Category Model' of attribution. Schmid and Fiedler apply parsimony in an inappropriate manner; they confuse linguistic analysis and argumentative critique.
