In people with overweight or obesity, regular exercise even without weight loss or vitamin D supplementation completely prevents the usual winter decline in the vitamin D metabolite that maintains health at a cellular level, 1,25(OH)2D3, and ameliorates the decline in the vitamin D status marker 25(OH)D.

Engineered Tissue Models to Decode Host–Microbiota Interactions
Host–Microbiota interactions in the human body. Created in BioRender. Ghezzi, C. (2025) https://BioRender.com/ihivskg. Abstract A mutualistic co‐evolution exists between the host and its associated microbiota in the human body. Bacteria establish ecological niches in various tissues of the body, locally influencing their physiology and functions, but ...

Fundamental Properties of Causal Entropy and Information Gain [PDF]
Recent developments enable the quantification of causal control given a structural causal model (SCM). This has been accomplished by introducing quantities which encode changes in the entropy of one variable when intervening on another. These measures, named causal entropy and causal information gain, aim to address limitations in existing information ...

Chronic social stress elevates oxytocin levels, leading to immunosuppression by enhancing regulatory T‐cell activity and promoting anti‐inflammatory macrophage polarization in the spleen. Blocking oxytocin signaling reverses these effects but worsens stress‐induced behavioral disorders and reduces survival rates. This highlights oxytocin's dual role in

Unveiling and Causalizing CoT: A Causal Pespective [PDF]
Although Chain-of-Thought (CoT) has achieved remarkable success in enhancing the reasoning ability of large language models (LLMs), the mechanism of CoT remains a ``black box''. Even if the correct answers can frequently be obtained, existing CoTs struggle to make the reasoning understandable to human.
