Caustic Frequency in 2D Stochastic Flows Modeling Turbulence

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Stochastic flows mimicking 2D turbulence in compressible media are considered. Particles driven by such flows can collide and we study the collision (caustic) frequency. Caustics occur when the Jacobian of a flow vanishes.

Caustics in dark matter haloes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006

Caustics are formally singular structures that frequently form in collisionless media. The non-negligible velocity dispersion of dark matter particles renders their density finite.

Caustic ingestions

open access: yesMedicina, 2009
Caustic ingestions (alkalis, acids) may cause severe chemical burns and lifelong complications, which worsen life quality. Approximately 80% of caustic ingestions occur in children. They mostly intoxicate because of chemical substances kept insecurely or in inappropriate containers.

Experimental study of the interaction of directional crack and open joint in slit charge blasting

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2021
To explore the interaction between directional crack and open joint in slit charge blasting, a dynamic caustics method and high-speed photography technology were used to carry out the blasting model experiment.

Caustic consideration of long planetary wave packet analysis in the continuously stratified ocean

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2001
The wave packet method, one form of the WKB technique, recently has been employed to investigate the evolution of long planetary wave packets in relation to the complex climate variability in the world oceans.

L-glutamine Supplemented Nutrition Alleviates Damage Caused by Corrosİve Esophagitis in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Behçet Uz Children's Hospital, 2022
Objective: The primary goal in the treatment of corrosive esophagitis (CE) is to control inflammation and scar reactions. L-glutamine (Gln) is beneficial for the integrity of the intestinal mucosal epithelium and is an amino acid that promotes mature ...

Corrosive Esophagitis and Gastritis Induced by Glutaraldehyde Ingestion [PDF]

open access: yesThe Korean Journal of Helicobacter and Upper Gastrointestinal Research, 2020
Corrosive esophagitis and gastritis are characterized by caustic damage due to ingestion of chemical agents. Caustic agents cause tissue destruction through liquefaction or coagulation reactions.

The caustics method in the contact problems of anisotropic materials

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2010
Regions with high stress gradients represent critical zones of engineering structures such as crack tip or vicinity of the contact zone. The optical method of caustics is one of the few experimental methods which provide applicable results in these ...

On planar caustics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study local invariants of planar caustics, that is, invariants of Lagrangian maps from surfaces to R2 whose increments in generic homotopies are determined entirely by diffeomorphism types of local bifurcations of the caustics.
