Synergistic Coupling of Host and Electrolyte Achieving 1270 Wh L−1 in Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A synergistic combination of a highly reversible host and a commercially viable carbonate‐rich electrolyte enables simultaneous stabilization of both anode and cathode interfaces in anode‐free lithium metal batteries. This integrated strategy delivers exceptional reversibility and a record volumetric energy density of 1270 Wh L−1 (including package) in

Cave art without the caves

open access: yesAntiquity, 1995
It is over a decade since Palaeolithic parietal art was first spotted in Europe on exposed open-air surfaces—cave art without the caves. Now the major site in Portugal is threatened by the lake behind a river-dam under construction. Here is a report on what cave art outside the caves amounts to, and of the confrontations over the Côa site that were in ...

A Quasi‐Solid Ionic Liquid‐Polymer Hybrid Electrolyte for Shuttle‐Free and Dendrite‐Free Aqueous Zinc─Bromine Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A quasi‐solid ionic liquid‐polymer hybrid electrolyte is proposed to achieve shuttle‐free and dendrite‐free aqueous Zn─Br batteries. Synergetic effects between Zn2+ selective conduction of polyanionic network and polybromide complexing additive suppress the shuttle effect and improve Zn reversibility.

Single‐Chromophore Homojunction Organic Solar Cells: A Path to Simplicity and Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective discusses how the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors, their molecular packing in the solid‐state, and internal energetic gradients within a device can enable free‐charge carrier generation in homojunction organic solar cells.

Some Integrable Systems in Nonlinear Quantum Optics

open access: yes, 2002
In the paper we investigate the theory of quantum optical systems. As an application we integrate and describe the quantum optical systems which are generically related to the classical orthogonal polynomials.
