Mechanisms of Roadway Instability and Coupled Control Technology for Working Face Passing Through Fault Zones

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study mainly explores the instability characteristics of roadways near faults in the working face. Taking the 51104 transportation roadway of the 51104 working face in Shengxin Coal Mine as the main research object, through theoretical analysis, borehole inspection, numerical simulation and on‐site mine pressure observation, the instability ...

Optimization of Blasting‑Induced Roof Cutting Parameters in Key Stratum and Its Application in Gob‑Side Entry Retention Technology

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study addresses hard roof coal seam conditions by optimizing key stratum blasting‐cutting parameters through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field tests. It proposes calculation methods for blast hole spacing and delay timing based on stress wave theory, controlling roadway deformation within 35 mm, thereby enhancing resource ...

Numerical Simulation Study on Optimization of Horizontal Sublevel Top‐Coal Caving Mining Technique for Steeply Inclined Extra‐Thick Coal Seam

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
As the sublevel height increases, the top‐coal recovery amount gradually increases, but both the top‐coal recovery rate and the thickened top‐coal recovery rate show a downward trend, and the decline in the top‐coal recovery rate is gradually increasing. The comparison indicates that the optimal sublevel height is 20 m.

Tourist interest in illicit zone of ice caves

open access: yes, 2018
Ledové sluje (Ice Caves) in the Podyjí National Park represents one of the most spectacular sites within the area. It consists of the large boulder field and several pseudokarst caverns on the north-western slope of the ridge that are very important from the ecological and geomorphological point of view.

Rapid Prediction for Overburden Caving Zone of Underground Excavations

open access: yesGeotechnics
Underground coal gasification (UCG) is an emerging energy technology that involves the in situ conversion of coal into syngas through controlled combustion within a subsurface excavation. The geomechanical processes associated with UCG can lead to significant overburden caving and surface subsidence, posing risks to surface infrastructure and ...

Practice adoption in MNCS: A multi‐level interactionist model of trait activation

open access: yesGlobal Strategy Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Sharing knowledge through organizational practices is an important source of advantage for multinational corporations (MNCs). While prior research on practice adoption by subsidiaries of MNCs has identified several individual and organizational factors, this study examines their interplay in the context of HQ‐mandated ...

Multi-field information fusion-based analysis of the macroscopic and mesoscopic damage evolution and location identification of caving and water-conducting fracture zones for mining overburden

open access: yesMeitian dizhi yu kantan
ObjectiveFor the coal mining areas in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, there is an urgent need to determine the failure characteristics of the mining overburden and the spatial structural evolution of caving and water-conducting fracture zones in ...

Materials and Music: Selective Imperfection as a Generative Framework for Analysis, Creativity and Discovery

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Vibrations in matter, from spider webs to molecules, water to flames, share a grammar with music. We propose that creativity emerges when constraints force expansion beyond existing possibilities. Selective imperfection restores balance, enabling invention.

Total Immunoglobulin G Variation Through the Phenological Cycle of Migrant and Resident Lesser Long‐Nosed Bats (Leptonycteris yerbabuenae) in the Drylands of Mexico and Its Relationship With Bacterial Killing‐Ability of Plasma

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bats have unique immunological characteristics among vertebrates. Understanding how the immune system responds during the life cycle of bat populations is crucial for grasping how their defenses against infection vary during critical life events.
