Jet Impact and Cavitation Damage
Journal of Basic Engineering, 1968On the basis of presently known erosion theories, an analogy is made between jet impact and cavitation erosion, and confirmed by experiments. As a consequence of this analogy, data on jet impact experiments are used to explain some peculiar aspects of cavitation damage.

Visualization of a highly submerged cavitating water jet was done by high-speed camera photography in order to study and understand the jet structure and the behavior of cloud cavitation within time and space. The influencing parameters, such as injection pressure, nozzle diameter and geometry, and nozzle direction (convergent and divergent), were ...

The cavitation nozzle is the key to generate cavitation. In addition, the choice of nozzle injection pressure has a significant effect on the cleaning effect. In order to obtain the best injection pressure, we simulated the typical high-efficiency angle nozzle by using FLUENT software and analysed the influence of nozzle injection pressure on the ...

A Study of the Practicality of Cavitating Water Jets
1992Although the potential of cavitating water jets for augmenting the cutting or cleaning ability of continuous water jets has been known for a number of years, their use is not as widespread as, for example, that of abrasive-entrained water jets. Good performance of cavitating water jets has mainly been documented under submerged conditions, where it is ...
