Recycling of Epoxy Resin via Blending with Polycaprolactone for Fused Filament Fabrication 3D Printing Applications

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Epoxy waste was recycled by milling and melt blending with polycaprolactone (PCL). The material was used for 3D printing. FTIR showed good dispersion of the epoxy in the matrix. Mechanical properties of the 3D printed samples and the injection moulded ones were similar.

Deformation and Failure Mechanisms of Natural/Waste Rubber Blends Under Mechanical and Thermal Cycles: A Synchrotron In Situ Study

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
This study explores how ground tire rubber (GTR) enhances strain‐induced crystallization (SIC) in natural rubber (NR) under mechanical and thermal cycles. Using in situ WAXD, it reveals improved reinforcement, delayed failure, and increased thermal resistance while increasing GTR content.

Low‐Temperature Thermochemical Treatments of Face‐Centered Cubic Alloys: New Perspectives for Expanded Austenite From Austenitic Stainless Steels to High‐Entropy Alloys

open access: yesMetalMat, EarlyView.
Expanded austenite is a supersaturated solid solution of nitrogen and/or carbon in a metal face‐centered cubic lattice, produced by surface treatments at low temperatures. The review discusses the characteristics and properties of this phase formed on austenitic stainless steels, nickel and cobalt alloys and entropy alloys, highlighting the ...
