The effect of cavitation on the hydrofoil dynamic characteristics

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2013
Cavitation in hydraulic machinery usually causes a change of fluid dynamic characteristics. In order to predict the effect of cavitation on hydrofoil characteristics, the cavitation around a hydrofoil was studied numerically. The full cavitation model and a modified RNG k e-turbulence model were used.

Experimental Study on Influences of Surface Materials on Cavitation Flow Around Hydrofoils

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
In order to resist on the cavitation erosion, many researchers try to change the solidity and tenacity of the coatings, but ignore the influence of surface characteristics of materials on cavitation flow and the interaction with each other. In this paper,

Crystal Facet‐Polysaccharide Matching in CFS‐P Nanocrystals Drives Fungal Uptake, Vacuole Destruction, and Selective Antifungal Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Facet‐engineered PVP‐capped CuFeSe2 nanocrystals exhibit potent, selective antifungal activity by strongly binding cell‐wall mannan, enabling vacuolar entry and organelle disruption. High‐index facets show superior mannan affinity, validated by theoretical calculations and experiments. CFS‐P induces vacuolar cavitation, mitochondrial abnormalities, and

Functional Disorder at the Neural Interface: How Disordered Nanostructures Promote Proper Growth and Differentiation in In Vitro Neural Cultures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work provides a practical guide for neuroengineers to design advanced neural interfaces, embracing and tailoring the concept of functional disorder. By bridging 2D and 3D in vitro models, this work highlights how non‐periodic, spatially heterogeneous, multiscale nanotopography can enable more physiologically relevant platforms for studying neural ...

Mechanozyme: An Artificial Enzyme With a Mechanophore Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical destabilization of a G‐quadruplex mechanophore in a DNAzyme markedly boosts its catalytic activity, demonstrating “mechanozymes” as artificial enzymes whose functions are modulated by mechanical stress exerted by ultrasonication. This mechanozyme principle is broadly applicable to control biomolecular activities.
