ABSTRACT Drought‐induced tree mortality underscores the need for improved physiological models to predict tree responses to water stress. We employed a hysteresis modelling approach analyzing diel water absorption and desorption cycles to understand drought‐induced shifts in physiological thresholds.

ABSTRACT Plant‐based antioxidants are widely incorporated into foods to retard oxidative deterioration and to deliver health‐related benefits. Yet, their in‐product and in vivo performance frequently diverges from predictions based on solution‐phase chemical assays, because matrix interactions, processing history, and host metabolism reshape both ...

On some physics to consider in numerical simulation of erosive cavitation [PDF]
This paper discusses some hydrodynamic mechanisms in erosive cavitation, which are all important to capture, and consider, when assessing the risk of erosion, by numerical simulations or model tests in a cavitation tunnel.

Sono‐Mechanogenetics: Linking Ultrasound Physics With Cellular Mechanobiology
Sono‐mechanogenetics links ultrasound physics with cellular mechanotransduction to enable noninvasive control of engineered biological systems. Acoustic forces generate distinct deformation modes that activate intracellular signaling pathways, which can be coupled to synthetic gene circuits to regulate diverse cellular functions, including gene ...

Mechanism of Cloud Cavitation and Its Control
This paper describes the experimental result of cloud cavitation on a two-dimensional foil. Cloud cavitation was observed by a high speed camera and a high speed video camera to know the mechanism of cloud cavitation. Ink was injected to investigate the reserve flow (re-entrant jet) at the bottom of the sheet cavity.
