Analysis on Multistable Motion Characteristics of Supercavitating Vehicle
Due to complex underwater environment, when the initial condition of launching is subjected to low external disturbance, the motion trace of a supercavitating vehicle might display many different motion states during underwater navigation. With the aim of addressing this problem, based on the dynamic map, in the present work the multistable phenomena ...

Augmentation of Vortex Cavitator Performance by the Use of Co-Directional Swirl of the Flux after Vortex Chamber [PDF]
Background: Acoustic cavitation is the creation and collapse of cavitation caverns in liquid in an acoustic field with a frequency of f = 1–3 kHz.

A fixed‐length Boundary Element Method (BEM) is used to investigate the super‐ and partial cavitating flows around various axisymmetric bodies using simple and reentrant jet models at the closure zone of cavity. Also, a simple algorithm is proposed to model the quasi‐3D cavitating flows over elliptical‐head bodies using the axisymmetric method.

Experimental investigation of combustion hot-gas ventilated supercavitation
Most of experimental and numerical studies on ventilated supercavitation have been focused on injection of room temperature air. However, in this work, the effect of combustion hot-gas over 1200 K on characteristics of the supercavity was investigated ...

A-harmonic equation and cavitation
Suppose that \(f\) is a homeomorphism from the punctured unit disk \(D \setminus \{0\}\) onto the annulus \(A(r') = \{r' < |z| <1 \}\), \(r' \geq 0\), and \(f\) is quasiconformal in every \(A(r)\), \(r> 0\), but not in \(D\). If \(r' > 0\) then \(f\) has cavitation at \(0\) and no cavitation if \(r' = 0\). The singular factorization problem

Research on the Numerical Simulation of the Nonlinear Dynamics of a Supercavitating Vehicle
Little is known about the movement characteristics of the supercavitating vehicle navigating underwater. In this paper, based on a four‐dimensional dynamical system of this vehicle, its complicated dynamical behaviors were analyzed in detail by numerical simulation, according to the phase trajectory diagram, the bifurcation diagram, and the Lyapunov ...

Shape of Slender Axisymmetric Ventilated Supercavities
The integral‐differential equation was obtained to simulate unsteady evolutions of the slender axisymmetric ventilated supercavity with the use of one‐dimensional inviscid flow of the incompressible gas in the channel between the cavity surface and the body of revolution.

Numerical Model for Cavitational Flow in Hydraulic Poppet Valves
The paper presents a numerical simulation and analysis of the flow inside a poppet valve. First, the single‐phase (liquid) flow is investigated, and an original model is introduced for quantitatively describing the vortex flow. Since an atmospheric outlet pressure produces large negative absolute pressure regions, a two‐phase (cavitating) flow analysis
