STUDY OF SOLAR THERMAL CAVITY RECEIVER FOR PARABOLIC CONCENTRATING COLLECTOR
Energy is one of the building blocks of the country. The growth of the country has been fueled by cheap, abundant energy resources. Solar energy is a form of renewable energy which is available abundantly and collected unreservedly.

Turbulent contribution to heat loss in cavity receivers [PDF]
For the prediction of convective heat loss from solar concentrating receiver cavities a number of empirical correlations exist. Geometry and the inclination angle determine the degree to which natural convection can infiltrate the cavity and remove stably stratified hot air out through the aperture.

Application of SbpRAY for simulation and optimization of a heliostat field and cavity receiver [PDF]
This paper discusses the usage of sbpRAY for the optimization of a cavity receiver. New features have been implemented into the program for this purpose. A case study is presented which combines sbpRAY with Rhino and Grasshopper. The example is taken from Next-CSP1, a research project investigating a high temperature solar thermal power plant with a ...

Effect of use of MWCNT/oil nanofluid on the performance of solar organic Rankine cycle
In the current study, a solar-driven organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system was thermodynamically, economically and environmentally investigated. A focal point concentrator with two different cavity-shape receivers was investigated as the ORC heat source ...

Design optimization of a new cavity receiver for a parabolic trough solar collector
The most important parameter affecting the optical efficiency, the upper limit for an overall efficiency of parabolic trough solar collector (PTC), is the net absorbed heat rate by receiver on which solar beam radiation is concentrated.

Reduction of convective losses in solar cavity receivers [PDF]
Two design innovations are reported that can help improve the thermal performance of a solar cavity receiver. These innovations utilise the natural variation of wall temperature inside the cavity and active management of airflow in the vicinity of the receiver.

Cavity-enhanced Rydberg atomic superheterodyne receiver
High-sensitivity measurements of the microwave electric field are important in applications of communication and metrology. The sensitivity of traditional Rydberg superheterodyne receivers in free space is effectively determined by the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which is often considered equivalent to sensitivity in practical sensing applications. In
