Comparing CB-SEM and PLS-SEM results: an empirical example [PDF]
Many scholars view PLS-SEM as less rigorous than CB-SEM, namely due to is less restrictive assumptions. The main objective of this research is to compare the results of both approaches, for a given model, to examine if there are, indeed, noteworthy differences. The study shows that the results obtained in both approaches are very similar.

Covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM): a SmartPLS 4 software tutorial [PDF]
Abstract Covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) enables researchers to estimate models with hypothesized cause-effect relationships between latent variables (i.e., constructs), each of which is operationalized by several items (i.e., indicators).

On Comparing Results from CB-SEM and PLS-SEM: Five Perspectives and Five Recommendations
Descriptive statistics and the application of multivariate data analysis techniques such as regression analysis and factor analysis belong to the core set of statistical instruments, and their use has generated findings that have significantly shaped the way we see the world today.

COMPARING CB-SEM AND PLS-SEM: A CASE SHOWING MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING IMPACT ON PERFORMANCE
The objective of this article is to contrast two broad approaches to structural equation modelling (SEM): covariance-based (CB-SEM) and variance-based partial least square (PLS-SEM). Each approach was applied to estimate parameters of the same case model.

The Effect Of Nonnormality On Cb-Sem And Pls-Sem Path Estimates
The two common approaches to Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) are the Covariance-Based SEM (CB-SEM) and Partial Least Squares SEM (PLS-SEM). There is much debate on the performance of CB-SEM and PLS-SEM for small sample size and when distributions are nonnormal.

A Quantitative Analysis of Organizational Silence and Turnover Intention: An Outcome with CB-SEM
Today's businesses have acknowledged the necessity of retaining their employees rather than spending time and resources training new employees, making employee retention a pressing issue. Although this view of the organization's top management is the main cause of unemployment, it may also inhibit new talent and innovation.
