Meteorological Applications, Volume 33, Issue 5, September/October 2026.This study develops AI models (CNN, CNN‐CBAM, CNN‐LSTM) for extended‐range precipitation forecasting. The CNN‐LSTM model demonstrates superior and stable skill beyond 20 days, significantly outperforming the ECMWF model, especially for heavy precipitation events.
