Preoperative Periapical Status and Outcomes of Vital Pulp Therapy: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This systematic review has investigated whether the preoperative periapical radiographic status (PPRS) is a predictor of VPT success/survival. Four databases were searched for studies published from inception to November 2024. The studies' characteristics were tabulated, and a meta‐analysis was performed to evaluate the correlation between ...

Selective Root Canal Retreatment: A Scoping Review and Metasynthesis by Thematic Analysis

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Selective root canal retreatment preserves well‐filled canals by treating only roots showing clinical or imaging evidence of failure, providing a minimally invasive alternative to conventional full retreatment. This scoping review, supported by metasynthesis through thematic analysis, synthesised clinical and imaging evidence in multirooted ...

Beyond traditional techniques: PriciGuide® and PriciPost® systems – A glimpse into the future of endodontics

open access: yesAdvances in Biomedical and Health Sciences
Although conventional root canal therapy is generally successful, it often faces challenges in preserving the tooth structure during access cavity preparation, particularly in cases of pulp canal obliteration, dental prostheses, and postrelated ...

Characterisation of the Mesial Root and Middle Mesial Canal Morphology in Mandibular First Molars: An Ex Vivo Micro‐CT Study

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This ex vivo study characterised the mesial root morphology of mandibular first molars with a middle mesial canal (MMC) using micro‐CT. Among 469 scanned molars, 42 (8.96%) presented an MMC. Morphological parameters analysed included canal configuration, chamber orifice features, dentine thickness, isthmus type, and aspect ratio.

Influence of Abutment Shape on Implant Marginal Bone Remodeling: A Double‐Blind, Randomized 24‐Month Clinical Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study follows a 2‐year evaluation to verify marginal bone remodeling (MBR) trends associated with different abutment designs. Methods A balanced, randomised, double‐blind clinical trial with two parallel experimental arms. 68 implants were placed in 9 men and 12 women, 48.5% using the straight abutment and 51.5% the concave ...

Evaluating CBCT-Guided Adaptive Radiotherapy for Pancreatic Cancer Using Synthetic CBCT Data

open access: yesCurrent Oncology
Ethos adaptive radiotherapy is employed frequently in the pelvis to improve treatment accuracy by adapting to daily anatomical changes. The use of this CBCT-guided platform for abdominal treatments is made challenging by motion-related image artifacts that are detrimental to the Ethos auto-contouring process.

Rescue Therapy With Quad Zygoma After Failure of Full‐Arch Implant Rehabilitation: A Retrospective Study With a Mean Follow‐Up of 8 Years

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the long‐term clinical outcomes of quad zygomatic implants (ZIs) as a rescue therapy for patients with failed full‐arch implant rehabilitation in the maxilla due to advanced peri‐implantitis. Material and Methods This was a retrospective cohort study of all patients treated with the Quad Zygoma Protocol. Primary outcomes

Diagnostic Accuracy of Deep Learning Models in Detecting Peri‐Implant Marginal Bone Loss: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Peri‐implantitis is a common implant complication requiring early detection to prevent bone loss and implant failure. Deep learning models show promise for enhancing radiographic diagnosis. Objectives This review systematically evaluated the diagnostic performance of deep learning models in detecting peri‐implant marginal bone loss ...
