Information sharing and willingness-to-pay for CBPP vaccine in rural Kenya

Vaccine, 2019
The study estimates cattle owners' willingness-to-pay (WTP) for Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) vaccine in Samburu county, Kenya. Of particular policy relevance, the study presents findings on WTP for i) improved access to vaccines and ii) timely access to disease-risk information. The mean price for a CBPP vaccine was estimated at KES 66 (USD

A competitive ELISA for the specific diagnosis of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP)

Veterinary Microbiology, 1998
A competitive ELISA, using a specific monoclonal antibody, was designed to detect antibodies to Mycoplasma mycoides subsp. mycoides SC, the agent of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia. One monoclonal antibody was found suitable for such a test, '117/5', it does not cross-react with any of the other mycoplasma species tested, furthermore, its binding is ...

Improved formulations for existing CBPP vaccines—recommendations for change

Vaccine, 2004
Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is an economically important transboundary disease, widely present in sub-saharan Africa. Social, cultural and economic factors mean that effective vaccination is the only viable control policy at present. Unfortunately, contemporary live attenuated vaccines are reportedly of limited efficacy and have been ...

Pathological, Immunohistochemical and Bacteriological Findings in Kidneys of Cattle with Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP)

Journal of Comparative Pathology, 2001
Between 1990 and 1993, 61 outbreaks of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) were reported in Lombardy, Northern Italy. In this study, gross pathological examination was carried out on 3129 slaughtered cattle, 716 of which (22.9%) showed typical CBPP pulmonary lesions.

A new microtitration method for the enumeration of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) vaccines

Biologicals, 1992
A new method is proposed for the microtitration of CBPP vaccines by performing eight parallel endpoint two-fold dilutions. When performed on a 96-well plate, it gives a titre with a precision of +/- 0.2 log10. By comparison, the established method, performed in tubes, gives a precision of only +/- 0.6 log10.

CBPP T144/T1SR vaccine induced immune response in vaccinated cattle

Bulletin of Animal Health and Production in Africa, 2016
The Gambia experienced a sudden epidemic outbreak of Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) in cattle in August 2012 after its last reported cases in 1971. The objective of this study was to monitor the immunological response in terms of antibody detection in vaccinated cattle against CBPP using freeze-dried live attenuated T144 or T1SR strains.Blood
