Geometrically‐Screened, Sterically‐Hindered Additive for Wide‐Temperature Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries
A molecular‑engineering strategy combining steric hindrance tuning with geometric optimization identifies cellobiose as an ideal additive for aqueous zinc‑ion batteries, enabling stable Zn deposition across a wide temperature range from −30 to 50 °C. Abstract Aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (AZIBs) are emerging as a highly promising alternative to lithium ...

Antecedentes: Los encinos se asocian con hongos micorrízicos y con endofíticos septados; sin embargo, se desconoce, en especial para encinos endémicos, cómo estos hongos impactan el desarrollo de las plántulas.

On the optical and X-ray afterglows of gamma ray bursts
We severely criticize the consuetudinary analysis of the afterglows of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) in the conical-ejection fireball scenarios. We argue that, instead, recent observations imply that the long-duration GRBs and their afterglows are produced by ...

UV-induced fragmentation of Cajal bodies [PDF]
The morphology and composition of subnuclear organelles, such as Cajal bodies (CBs), nucleoli, and other nuclear bodies, is dynamic and can change in response to a variety of cell stimuli, including stress.

A Human‐Based Skin‐Lymphoreticular Model‐on‐Chip to Emulate Inflammatory Skin Conditions
A human‐based lymphoreticular (LR) model was developed through guided self‐assembly and integrated in a skin‐lymphoreticular co‐culture in a microfluidic organ‐on‐chip to mimic interactions between skin and its draining lymph nodes. The human‐based skin‐lymphoreticular model resembles a minimally functional unit that allows to study interactions ...

Analysis of Spatially-Coupled Counter Braids [PDF]
A counter braid (CB) is a novel counter architecture introduced by Lu et al. in 2007 for per-flow measurements on high-speed links. CBs achieve an asymptotic compression rate (under optimal decoding) that matches the entropy lower bound of the flow size ...

Models of the human skin must combine the relevant biological contents and suitable biomaterials with the correct spatial organization. Performing compound screening on such in vitro models also requires fast and reproducible production methods of the models.

Light transport in cold atoms: the fate of coherent backscattering in the weak localization regime
The recent observation of coherent backscattering (CBS) of light by atoms has emphasized the key role of the velocity spread and of the quantum internal structure of the atoms.

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Coherent backscattering of light by cold atoms: theory meets experiment
Coherent backscattering (CBS) of quasi-resonant light by cold atoms presents some specific features due to the internal structure of the atomic scatterers.
