Resilience and Sustainability Through Interlinkages of Gender, Disaster, and Climate Change: A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This systematic literature review examines gendered vulnerabilities, adaptive capacities, and policy translation in climate‐change induced disaster research using an intersectional lens in the Web of Science Database. Peer‐reviewed journal articles published in English between 2014 and 2024 focusing on gender, climate change, and disaster were

Learning to innovate: How and when firms transform intellectual capital into exploratory and exploitative innovation

open access: yesStrategic Entrepreneurship Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Corporate entrepreneurship (CE) requires firms to pursue both exploratory and exploitative innovation, yet limited research explains how intellectual capital (IC) is translated into these distinct outcomes. We develop a contingency model that specifies how and when IC drives exploration and exploitation.

2D van der Waals System Integrated with Targeting Radio‐Diagnostic and Imaging Functions

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoplates were engineered for tumor‐targeted imaging and therapy. By exploiting folate receptor (FR) expression levels, the system achieves selective tumor accumulation and high‐resolution dual PET/fluorescence (PET/FL) imaging.

A Label‐Free Ultraviolet Photoacoustic Microscopy Enables Nuclear Imaging and Toxicity Assessment in an Intact Brain Organoid

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Ultraviolet photoacoustic microscopy enables label‐free visualization of nuclear morphology in intact human brain organoids. By exploiting endogenous nucleic acid absorption at 266 nm, this approach resolves individual nuclei without staining or sectioning.

Enhanced Actuation Stability of Liquid Crystal Elastomer Actuators With Diels–Alder Dynamic Bonds

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
By leveraging furan substitution, enhanced thermal stability during actuation of liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) with Diels–Alder dynamic (DA) bonds was achieved. This work demonstrates that 3‐substituted furan broadens the actuation window of LCEs with DA bonds and enables superior thermomechanical stability and cycling performance at elevated ...

Defining Lines of Defense Against Change Propagation Using Cause‐Consequence Analysis

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Complex engineered systems are the core of modern society. So that engineered systems and infrastructure can be sustainable and offer value over the course of their lifespan, there is a growing need for such systems to be changeable. Yet, establishing and operationalizing changeability can be challenging due to the potential for change ...

Nanomaterials‐Decorated Biomass‐Derived Carbon for Overall Water Splitting: Interfacial Engineering, Mechanistic Insights, and Device Translation

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
Biomass‐derived carbon provides a sustainable, porous, and conductive scaffold that stabilizes nanomaterials for bifunctional hydrogen evolution reaction/oxygen evolution reaction catalysis. This review summarizes design strategies (defects, heteroatom doping, heterostructures, single atoms), mechanistic/density functional theory insights, degradation ...
