Climate Change Adaptation in Africa (CCAA) final report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
As much as climate change variability and other physical processes, it is very often poverty – in terms of lack of resources or choices – that creates vulnerability.

Copper Complexes with Arylated Triethylenetetramine Ligands: Reactivity Toward Dioxygen and Peroxides

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 17, 17 June 2026.
Here, we describe new Cu(I)/Cu(II) complexes based on arylated tren ligands and investigate their reactivity toward O2 and peroxides. Low‐temperature–stopped flow studies revealed the formation of transient copper–oxygen species, including superoxido, hydroperoxido, and alkylperoxido intermediates.

Functional and structural insights into cyanobacterial CO2 concentrating mechanisms: from compartmentalization to regulation

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 5, June 2026.
Significance Statement Life on Earth depends on photosynthetic CO2 fixation via the Calvin–Benson–Bassham cycle to form organic carbon. This process evolved first in cyanobacteria and was later conveyed to eukaryotes, giving rise to plastids in algae and plants. To cope with low atmospheric CO2 concentrations that developed over the course of evolution,

TET3‐Mediated m5C Modification of CCAT2 Accelerates Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cell Damage in Acute Coronary Syndrome

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, Volume 42, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is a clinical syndrome involving myocardial ischemia. This study aimed to elucidate the mechanism of TET3 in ACS‐induced CMEC damage, thereby identifying a new target for ACS treatment. The expression of TET3 in ACS patients and healthy subjects was analyzed.

Evaluation of catchment contributing areas and storm runoff in flat terrain subject to urbanisation [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2011
Contributing Catchment Area Analysis (CCAA) is a spatial analysis technique developed and used for estimation of the hydrological connectivity of relatively flat catchments.

Architectural and biochemical advances in understanding microbial CO2 concentrating mechanisms

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 3, May 2026.
SUMMARY CO2 concentrating mechanisms (CCMs) are ubiquitous in phototrophs. They are found in the micro as well as the macro world. Different domains of life have developed strikingly different approaches to concentrate inorganic carbon around Rubisco, the most prevalent enzyme on earth.

Patterns and Drivers of Spanish Corporate Commitment to the UN Global Compact: A Quantitative Approach

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 1611-1632, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a quantitative assessment of Spanish companies' commitment to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Analyzing over 1000 participating firms, we identify prioritization patterns and examine structural factors influencing SDG adherence.

La acción exterior de las Comunidades Autónomas: ¿hacia una nueva interpretación de la competencia exclusiva del Estado en materia de relaciones internacionales? [PDF]

open access: yesRevista d'Estudis Autonòmics i Federals, 2017
A la luz de las previsiones estatutarias y de consolidada jurisprudencia constitucional, las Comunidades Autónomas han ido desarrollando, con distinta intensidad, actuaciones que han supuesto una proyección exterior de su actividad política ...
