Conductive Carbon Black-Graphene Composite for Sensitive Sensing of Rutin

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
A conductive carbon black-graphene (CCB-GR) modified glassy carbon electrode (CCB-GR/GCE) has been fabricated and used for determination of rutin. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results indicated that CCB-GR was successfully prepared.

A full one-loop charge symmetry breaking effective potential

open access: yes, 2001
We calculate the one-loop contributions to the effective potential for the minimal supersymmetric model when scalar fields other than the Higgses have vacuum expectation values.

Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Reaction Behavior of Carbon Composite Briquette in Blast Furnace

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The application of carbon composite briquette (CCB) is considered to be an efficient method for achieving low-energy and low-CO2-emission blast furnace (BF) operations.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Harnessing genetic diversity in cotton for enhanced resilience against salt stress by using agro-physiological characters

open access: yesPlant Production Science
Creating salt-tolerant genotypes is crucial for maximizing the productivity under salinized land. To evaluate genetic diversity for salt tolerance, 35 diverse cotton accessions were screened under 17 dS m−1 salt stress conditions using 20 agronomic and ...

Correlation of Walking Activity and Cardiac Hospitalizations in Coronary Patients for 1 Year Post Cardiac Rehabilitation: The More Steps, the Better!

open access: yesClinical Medicine Insights: Cardiology, 2022
Problem: Reducing risk by improving fitness is one of the main objectives of cardiac rehabilitation (CR). To estimate how the number of steps/day post-CR affects coronary patients’ prognosis, we analyzed its correlation with the occurrence of death ...

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...

An Incentive Compatible Multi-Armed-Bandit Crowdsourcing Mechanism with Quality Assurance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Consider a requester who wishes to crowdsource a series of identical binary labeling tasks to a pool of workers so as to achieve an assured accuracy for each task, in a cost optimal way.

Constraints from Unrealistic Vacua in Supersymmetric Standard Model with Neutrino Mass Operators

open access: yes, 2010
We analyze a scalar potential of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with neutrino mass operators along Unbounded-From-Below (UFB) and Color and/or Charged Breaking (CCB) directions. We show necessary conditions to avoid the potential minima

MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL TREATMENT REDUCES THE RISK OF TREATMENT ESCALATION DUE TO VASCULAR COMPLICATIONS IN LIMITED CUTANEOUS SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS: EMULATION OF A TARGET TRIAL FROM ITALIAN RHEUMATOLOGY SOCIETY SPRING REGISTRY

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) use in limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc) is relatively uncommon due to the lower fibrotic burden and the predominance of the vascular complications. In vitro observations and clinical data from transplanted patients suggest a protective effect of MMF on endothelial function.
