Inter‐Solar‐Cycle Variability of Extreme Geomagnetic Storms

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The occurrence of extreme space weather events, and, in particular, severe geomagnetic storms, while rare, can result in disproportionately large societal consequences. Accurate estimates of their likelihood over the timescale of a solar cycle or longer can provide crucial and actionable information for policymakers.

k-Generalized Statistics in Personal Income Distribution

open access: yes, 2007
Starting from the generalized exponential function $\exp_{\kappa}(x)=(\sqrt{1+\kappa^{2}x^{2}}+\kappa x)^{1/\kappa}$, with $\exp_{0}(x)=\exp(x)$, proposed in Ref. [G. Kaniadakis, Physica A \textbf{296}, 405 (2001)], the survival function $P_{>}(x)=\exp_{\

Different Contribution of Missense and Loss‐of‐Function Variants to the Genetic Structure of Familial and Sporadic Meniere Disease

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study examines the genetic basis of sporadic (SMD) and familial Meniere disease (FMD) by comparing rare protein‐coding variants using exome sequencing and gene burden analysis. FMD patients had a higher accumulation of missense and LoF variants, especially in genes linked to auditory and vestibular function.

Hydrothermal Plume Near‐Field Dynamics From LES and Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 130, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Hydrothermal plumes play a crucial role in vent fields by injecting significant buoyancy flux from centimeter‐scale vents and rising hundreds of meters. This is a multiscale process, yet only the large scales have been well studied. Near‐vent dynamics remain a challenge in plume modeling, despite their importance for understanding deep‐sea ...

Multi-Carrier Waveform Design for Directional Modulation Under Peak to Average Power Ratio Constraint

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Multi-carrier-based waveform design for directional modulation (DM) is studied, where simultaneous data transmission over multiple frequencies can be achieved, with given phase distribution at the main lobe and as random as possible over sidelobe regions

Characterizing the Large‐Scale Structure of Multimodal Semantic Networks

open access: yesCognitive Science, Volume 49, Issue 10, October 2025.
Abstract Humans organize semantic knowledge into complex networks that encode relations between concepts. The structure of those networks has broad implications for human cognitive processes, and for theories of semantic development. Evidence from large lexical networks such as those derived from word associations suggest that semantic networks are ...
