CRIMEAN-CONGO HEMORRHAGIC FEVER (CCHF)

Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a severe and often fatal viral infection caused by a virus belonging to the Nairovirus genus and transmitted by the Hyalomma marginatum tick. First identified in Crimea in 1944, the disease was reported in Turkey in 2002 in Tokat province.
