Rate of central corneal thickness changes in primary angle closure eyes: long-term follow-up results

open access: yesBMC Ophthalmology, 2021
Background Central corneal thickness (CCT) and its association with intraocular pressure, which is a pivotal parameter in glaucoma management, has previously been reported. In this study, we intended to investigate the long-term change of CCT in terms of

Clique cycle-transversals in distance-hereditary graphs

open access: yes, 2013
A cycle-transversal of a graph G is a subset T of V(G) such that T intersects every cycle of G. A clique cycle-transversal, or cct for short, is a cycle-transversal which is a clique.

Coherence and correspondence in medicine [PDF]

open access: yesJudgment and Decision Making, 2009
Many controversies in medical science can be framed as tension between a coherence approach (which seeks logic and explanation) and a correspondence approach (which emphasizes empirical correctness).

Changes in Central Corneal Thickness with Varying Post-prandial Blood Sugar Levels in Type 2 Diabetics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2019
Introduction: Central Corneal Thickness (CCT) affects measurement of Intraocular Pressure (IOP) using Goldmann Applanation Tonometry (GAT). Variation in CCT with blood sugar levels in diabetics could affect IOP measurement and subsequent glaucoma ...

Domain associated with zinc fingers‐containing NF90‐NF45 complex inhibits m6A modification of primary microRNA by suppressing METTL3/14 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Effect of diabetes mellitus on quantitative corneal anatomy – A systemic review

open access: yesAfrican Vision and Eye Health, 2022
Background: Corneal changes occur as a direct consequence of diabetes mellitus (DM). The central corneal thickness (CCT) is a useful parameter that provides information about the status of the metabolism of the cornea and can therefore help monitor the ...

Oral Dosed Organo‐Silica Nanoparticles Restore Glucose Homeostasis and β‐Cell Function in Diabetes Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An oral nanoplatform, MOP@T@D, which can maintain glucose homeostasis and restore islet β cells in diabetic rats is developed. It achieves efficient intestinal absorption and liver‐targeted delivery. The nanoparticle disintegrates only in response to hyperglycemia to release insulin on demand and provides antioxidant protection through selenoprotein ...
