Multifunctional Assessment of Rock‐Salt (Co0.2Cu0.2Mg0.2Ni0.2Zn0.2)O High‐Entropy Oxide: CO2 Hydrogenation Activity and Environmental Impact

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 19, 14 October 2026.
The study demonstrates that synthesis‐controlled microstructural engineering in rock‐salt high‐entropy oxides (HEO) enables strong tuning of CO2 hydrogenation performance, with combustion synthesis (CS) producing highly distorted, defect‐rich crystallites that markedly enhance methanol formation.

Deposit formation in oxyfuel‐driven cement plants – Study on the safe implementation of CCUS technologies in the cement industry

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 6, Page 553-562, October 2026.
Abstract Ring and build‐up formation in cement kiln systems is a persistent operational challenge, with spurrite, Ca5(SiO4)2CO3, being the most relevant deposit‐forming mineral upstream of the kiln inlet. Its occurrence is expected to intensify under oxyfuel combustion due to the elevated CO2 partial pressures inherent to this carbon capture technology.

Wet Carbonation of BCSA vs. CEM I: Phase Assemblage, Structure and Reactivity towards SCM Applications

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 6, Page 600-607, October 2026.
Abstract Within the re‐CEM project (part of the priority program SPP 2436 Net‐Zero Concrete), we investigate wet carbonation as a CCU pathway to convert recycled cement paste (RCP) into supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs). The study links RCP composition to the structure of the amorphous Al‐Si gel formed during carbonation, the phase assemblage

The Complete Chloroplast Genome of Dioscorea hypoglauca: Comparative Genomics and Phylogenetic Insights

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
We assembled and characterized the complete chloroplast genome of Dioscorea hypoglauca, a medicinally important yam species from southern China. The 153,219 bp genome exhibits a typical quadripartite structure, containing 129 genes (84 protein‐coding, 37 tRNA, and 8 rRNA genes), and comparative analyses with 22 other Dioscorea species revealed dynamic ...

Mitochondrial Genome Characteristics of Rhodobryum laxelimbatum and Comparative Analysis of RNA Editing and Codon Usage Bias With the Chloroplast Genome

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study notes that genomic‐level investigations of Rhodobryum laxelimbatum remain extremely limited. The mitochondrial genome assembled in this experiment, together with its comparative analysis against the chloroplast genome, offers key evidence to clarify organelle‐genome evolutionary patterns in Rhodobryum and to unravel the genetic traits and ...
