Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Risks from Supply Chain Perspective: A Review of the Literature and Conceptual Framework Development

open access: yesC
The technology called carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) is important for capturing CO2 emissions before they enter the air. Because everyone wants to stop global warming by reducing CO2 emissions, CCUS is an important and emerging ...

Energy‐Enhanced Aqueous Organic Flow Batteries Enabled by Integrated Proton‐Coupled Electron Transfer‐Induced Carbon Capture and Utilization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an aqueous organic flow battery that integrates energy storage with carbon capture and utilization. By feeding flue gas into an oxygen‐tolerant FFDS posolyte, reversible CO2 capture, utilization, and release is achieved via PCET‐driven pH swings.

Optimization of the CO2 Liquefaction Process-Performance Study with Varying Ambient Temperature

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) projects, the transportation of CO2 by ship can be an attractive alternative to transportation using a pipeline, particularly when the distance between the source and usage or storage location is large ...

Clinical, Genetic, and Pathologic Variability in Myelodysplastic Syndromes and Precursor Conditions Across Race, Ethnicity, and Sex

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The epidemiology of myelodysplastic syndromes/neoplasms (MDS) is challenging to define due to inconsistent reporting, complex diagnostic procedures, and evolving diagnostic criteria. Using the National MDS Natural History Study—a prospective cohort with centrally adjudicated histopathology and genetic variant review—we characterized the ...

Technobiological Pathways for High‐CO₂ Capture Using Micro‐/Macroalgae: Genetic Engineering, Process Automation, and Value‐Added Bioproducts

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the most critical drivers of climate change; this is primarily due to high concentrations and long atmospheric life of carbon dioxide (CO2). For a significant amount of time, various biological processes such as microalgal cultivation, cyanobacterial systems, photosynthetic microorganisms ...

Cellulose-Supported Ionic Liquids for Low-Cost Pressure Swing CO2 Capture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Reducing the cost of capturing CO2 from point source emitters is a major challenge facing carbon capture, utilization, and storage. While solid ionic liquids (SoILs) have been shown to allow selective and rapid CO2 capture by pressure swing separation ...

Informal Savings and Credit Institutions in the Urban Areas: The Case of Cooperative Credit Unions [PDF]

open access: yes
Less developed countries are usually characterized by a dualistic financial system: the formal and informal credit system. One form of the latter is the Cooperative Credit Union (CCU), which at present finds shelter in the private and government offices ...

Simultaneous Photoactivation of Copper and Ti‐Doped CeO2−x Enables Optimal Acceleration of the RWGS Reaction

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A combination of visible light and thermal energy accelerates the CO formation rate up to 57 times compared to dark conditions using a 3Cu/CeTiO2−x catalyst. Kinetic analysis, as well as steady state and transient spectroscopy, was applied under photocatalytic conditions to analyze and disentangle the reaction channels under dark and illuminated ...
