CD-R and the compatibility with CD

Optical Data Storage, 1994
In November 1990 Philips and Sony published the first draft of the "Orange Book", the standard for recording in CD format. Here, we will concentrate on part II of the "Orange Book", the standard for Write Once recording: CD-R.

Iron-Manganese (Oxyhydro)oxides, Rather than Oxidation of Sulfides, Determine Mobilization of Cd during Soil Drainage in Paddy Soil Systems.

Environmental Science and Technology, 2019
The preharvest drainage of rice paddy fields during the grain filling stage can result in a substantial mobilization of Cd in soil and, consequently, elevated grain Cd concentration.

Evaluation of phytoremediation potential of five Cd (hyper)accumulators in two Cd contaminated soils.

Science of the Total Environment, 2020
A phytoextraction experiment with five Cd hyperaccumulators (Amaranthus hypochondriacus, Celosia argentea, Solanum nigrum, Phytolacca acinosa and Sedum plumbizincicola) was conducted in two soils with different soil pH (5.93 and 7.43, respectively). Most

Cd immobilization mechanisms in a Pseudomonas strain and its application in soil Cd remediation.

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2021
In this study, we isolated a highly cadmium (Cd)-resistant bacterium, Pseudomonas sp. B7, which immobilized 100% Cd(II) from medium. Culturing strain B7 with Cd(II) led to the change of functional groups, mediating extracellular Cd(II) adsorption ...

Microplastics influence the adsorption and desorption characteristics of Cd in an agricultural soil.

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2019
Microplastics (MPs) in terrestrial ecosystems particularly agroecosystem are attracting increasing attention worldwide. However, the influences of MPs on adsorption and desorption of contaminants in agricultural soils remain unknown.

Microstructural properties of epitaxial CdS, (Cd,Zn)S and CdS ‖ (Cd,Zn)S superlattices

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1992
Abstract Epitaxial CdS, (Cd,Zn)S and CdS ‖ (Cd,Zn)S superlattices have been grown by low pressure MOVPE on (001) and ( 111 )B GaAs substrates. TEM observations have shown that all the epilayers contained irregular arrays of thin planar defects, and higher densities were associated with layers containing higher proportions of Cd and this was ...

Electrical resistivity of liquid Cd-Cu, Cd-Zn and Cd-In systems

Philosophical Magazine, 1972
Abstract The electrical resistivity of liquid Cd-Cu, Cd-Zn and Cd-In systems has been measured from their respective melting points to about 680°c for Cd-Cu and 580°c for Cd-Zn and Cd-In. The nearly free electron theory of liquid alloys proposed by Faber and Ziman is qualitatively in agreement with the results for Cd-Zn and Cd-In, but there are ...

CD Rom

Emergency Nurse, 1996
A new CD-Rom has been launched by Guy's and St Thomas' Trust's poisonous unit to help health professionals discover which species have been involved in cases of plant poisoning. The unit says thousands of people are poisoned every year by eating or touching plants - the majority of those people affected being under the age of seven.

CdS/InP and CdS/GaAs heterojunctions by chemical-vapor deposition of CdS

Journal of Applied Physics, 1978
CdS/InP and CdS/GaAs heterojunctions were prepared by an in situ H2S/H2 etching process and H2 transport of CdS onto the InP and GaAs substrates. The etching involves a reaction of the III-V compound surface to the corresponding sesquisulfides and simultaneous or subsequent removal by reduction in H2 gas.

Diffusion of Cd in CdS

Physical Review, 1964
The self-diffusion of Cd in CdS has been measured under a variety of doping and firing conditions. Under saturated Cd pressure the diffusion coefficient is given by $D=3\mathrm{exp}(\ensuremath{-}2.0 \mathrm{eV}/kT)$. Under sulfur pressure at 800\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}C the diffusion coefficient is found to be linearly dependent on the ...
