CDB-2914 for Uterine Leiomyomata Treatment [PDF]

open access: yesObstetrics & Gynecology, 2008
To evaluate whether 3-month administration of CDB-2914, a selective progesterone receptor modulator, reduces leiomyoma size and symptoms.Premenopausal women with symptomatic uterine leiomyomata were randomly assigned to CDB-2914 at 10 mg (T1) or 20 mg (T2) daily or to placebo (PLC) for 3 cycles or 90-102 days if no menses occurred.

Higher Derivative BLG: Lagrangian and Supersymmetry Transformations

open access: yes, 2012
Working to lowest non-trivial order in fermions, we consider the four-derivative order corrected Lagrangian and supersymmetry transformations of the Euclidean Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson theory.

A Piagetian lens on cognitive development of children and youths with congenital deafblindness: a scoping review

open access: yesFrontiers in Education
Children with congenital deafblindness (CDB) experience several developmental delays, but an overview of studies on the cognitive development of children and youths with CDB is lacking. In present review, Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development was

Investigation of the chemical vicinity of crystal defects in ion-irradiated Mg and AZ31 with coincident Doppler broadening spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2007
Crystal defects in magnesium and magnesium based alloys like AZ31 are of major importance for the understanding of their macroscopic properties. We have investigated defects and their chemical surrounding in Mg and AZ31 on an atomic scale with Doppler ...

CDBS: Coincident Doppler-broadening spectrometer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of large-scale research facilities JLSRF, 2015
The CDBS, operated by the Technische Universität München, located at NEPOMUC, allows the detection of open volume defects and their chemical surrounding. Defect distributions can be imaged in 3D by lateral scanning with the energy variable positron beam.

Appropriate Medical Therapy Primarily Modifies Type 2 and Severity Biomarkers in Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Appropriate medical therapy (AMT) is first‐line treatment for patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). We evaluated inflammatory structure, treatment‐induced changes, and biomarker‐outcome associations in AMT‐managed patients. Methods Fifty‐one CRS patients were evaluated before and after AMT which included a combination of oral ...

CDB-AP: An application for coincidence Doppler broadening spectroscopy analysis

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2023
Coincidence Doppler Broadening (CDB) Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (PAS) is a material analysis technique that can be used to non-destructively measure characteristics of structural defects in samples. Analyzing and comparing large datasets obtained
