Implementation of OMOP and ConcePTION Common Data Models in CPRD GOLD: Risk of Bleeding and Cardiovascular Outcomes From Anticoagulant Use

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The impact of the choice of common data model (CDM) approach on the study results in a real‐world evidence (RWE) study is unknown. We aimed to determine potential differences in the results of an RWE study when data were mapped to two different CDMs, ConcePTION and OMOP. With the same instance of CPRD GOLD, data were mapped to both CDMs. Using the same

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Mining: An Integrated Institutional and Agency Theory Perspective

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mining is one of the foundations of economic development but has historically been associated with severe socioenvironmental impacts, such as ecosystem degradation, displacement of traditional communities, and large‐scale disasters. In this context, corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays a central role as a mechanism for legitimizing ...

Comparing the Evolution of the Galaxy Disk Sizes with CDM Models: The Hubble Deep Field

open access: yes, 2000
The intrinsic sizes of the field galaxies with I-19) galaxies is skewed with respect to the CDM predictions and an excess of small-size disks ...

Viscous {\Lambda}CDM Universe Models

open access: yes, 2011
We explore flat {\Lambda}CDM models with bulk viscosity, and study the role of the bulk viscosity in the evolution of these universe models. The dynamical equations for these models are obtained and solved for some cases of bulk viscosity. We obtain differential equations for the Hubble parameter H and the energy density of dark matter {\rho}, for ...

Experimental and constitutive modeling investigations on marble in Jinping Underground Laboratory

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The objective of this study is to reveal the underlying mechanisms behind the brittle‐ductile transition of the marble through a combination of experimental research and constitutive modeling. A series of triaxial compression and triaxial cyclic loading tests are conducted.

Differentiating CDM and Baryon Isocurvature Models with 21 cm Fluctuations

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss how one can discriminate models with cold dark matter (CDM) and baryon isocurvature fluctuations. Although current observations such as cosmic microwave background (CMB) can severely constrain the fraction of such isocurvature modes in the ...

$\Lambda$CDM $\cup$ MOND

open access: yes, 2022
It has been demonstrated that the difference between the Renormalised Brane World (RBW) model and the Lambda Cold Dark Matter ($\Lambda$CDM) model occurs only at sufficiently distant times. In this paper, it is shown that for spherically symmetric situations an analog deviation between the RBW model and Newton's theory occurs at large distances.

Random finite element analysis on ground subsidence caused by tunnel excavation in karst regions with spatial variable soil

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates ground subsidence during tunnel excavation in karst areas, highlighting the combined effects of karst cave proximity, cave size, and soil spatial variability. Findings suggest that shorter cave distances and larger cave sizes increase subsidence variability, and a modified Peck formula is proposed for more accurate subsidence ...

CDMS and SuperCDMS

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2012
The CDMS experiment has operated cryogenic Ge and Si detectors for several years in a well shielded underground environment searching for signals from Weakly Interacting Massive dark matter Particles (WIMPs). Due to the low background and excellent background discrimination power, CDMS has provided the best sensitivity for WIMP-nucleon interactions for
