Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Diagnosis of medullary thyroid cancer and prognostic factors of disease aggressiveness

open access: yesЭндокринная хирургия, 2013
In the study were enrolled 137 patients with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC). Low 35%-sensitivity of FNAC and high accuracy of basal calcitonin in MTC diagnostics were found.

Primary Cutaneous Mucinous Carcinoma Monitoring: A Role for CA15.3 and CEA?

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2022
Primary cutaneous mucinous carcinoma (PCMC) is a rare malignant skin adnexal tumor. Recurrences are most often localized, and long-term follow-up after complete surgery consists essentially of self-examination of skin.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Colorectal carcinoma evidence for circulating CEA-anti-CEA complexes [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 2006
Significant increments in measurable plasma CEA were effected by 2.5 M MgCl2 elution from putative circulating CEA-anti-CEA complexes in 11 of 15 patients with disseminated colorectal cancer and in five of ten patients with a high probability of having subclinical disease (Dukes'C category). Following 2.5 M MgCl2 elution, IgG from a patient with a high

CEA-based vaccines

open access: yesExpert Review of Vaccines, 2002
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), the first tumor-associated antigen to be described, was cloned in 1987 and is expressed on nearly 50% of all human tumors. The identification of T-cell specific epitopes within the coding region of the CEA protein has led to the development of various vaccine strategies that target CEA and CEA-expressing tumors.
