Urinary excretion of catecholamines in the night monkey(Aotus trivirgatus)(Primates, Cebidae)

Archives Internationales de Physiologie et de Biochimie, 1981
A seasonal variation in the urinary catecholamines output has been demonstrated in two simians kept under constant ambient conditions : the nocturnal Aotus and the diurnal Saïmiri sciureus. In Aotus, catecholamines output (NA + A), in spring, is higher than in other Primates including man and even more so in winter.

Gene mapping of Microcebus murinus (Lemuridae): a comparison with man and Cebus capucinus (Cebidae)

Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics, 2008
The karyotype of Microcebus murinus (MIM) (Lemuridae) is considered by Dutrillaux (1979) as the closest to the karyotype ancestral to all primates. A large number of homoeologies exists between the banding patterns of MIM chromosomes and those of man (HSA).

Analysis of constitutive heterochromatin of Aotus (Cebidae, Primates) by restriction enzyme and fluorochrome bands

Chromosome Research, 1998
The current classification of genus Aotus includes nine species, four of which occur above the Amazon River and five below it. The position of several of these taxa as a valid species has been questioned. Recently, we described the chromosomal constitution of a population in the state of Rondonia, Brazil, whose karyotype typically presented a ...

The nomenclature of the blond capuchin, Cebus flavius (Schreber, 1799) (Mammalia, Primates, Cebidae)

Zootaxa, 2020
I review the nomenclatural history of the blond capuchin, Cebus flavius (Schreber), a Brazilian monkey species. The name was published in 1799, not 1774 as generally cited, so the species is correctly known as Cebus flavius (Schreber, 1799).

[Hypometabolism in Aotus trivirgatus (Primates, Plathyrhini, Cebidae)].

Comptes rendus des seances de la Societe de biologie et de ses filiales, 1978
The standard metabolism of Aotus trivirgatus (Night monkey, Owl monkey) is 22.5 to 46.2 per cent below Kleiber's prevision curve for mammals, which applies to other cebid monkeys like Saimiri sciureus and Alouatta. However the metabolic rate of Aotus is not reduced to the extent found in two hypometabolic prosimians Perodicticus potto and Nycticebus ...
