Revalidation of Saguinus ursula Hoffmannsegg (Primates: Cebidae: Callitrichinae)
In this study, we review the taxonomy of Saguinus niger (É. Geoffroy) and revalidate Saguinus ursula Hoffmannsegg as a distinct species. The revalidation is based on pelage coloration, and the pattern of morphological divergence is corroborated by molecular data. Samples from the east bank of the Tocantins River (S.

Assessment of genetic variability in captive capuchin monkeys (Primates: Cebidae) [PDF]
Capuchin monkeys (genera Cebus and Sapajus) show a wide range distribution, from Honduras to Argentina. The aim of this work was to evaluate the genetic and phenotypic variability of captive specimens putatively belonging to S. cay (SCY) and S. nigritus (

The nomenclature of the blond capuchin, Cebus flavius (Schreber, 1799) (Mammalia, Primates, Cebidae)
I review the nomenclatural history of the blond capuchin, Cebus flavius (Schreber), a Brazilian monkey species. The name was published in 1799, not 1774 as generally cited, so the species is correctly known as Cebus flavius (Schreber, 1799).

The myoglobin of primates: the Night Monkey, Aotes trivirgatus (Cebidae, Platyrrhini, Anthropoidea)
The amino acid sequence of the myoglobin of the South American Night Monkey, Aotes trivirgatus, is identical to that of the marmoset (Callithrix jacchus [1]) except for residue 21 which is isoleucine in the marmoset, like in all other anthropoids, but valine in Aotes.
