Terpene acids from Cedrus libani
Phytochemistry, 1988Abstract Structures are proposed for three new terpene acids, atlantonic acid, dihydroatlantonic acid and libanotic acid, isolated from the acidic fraction of the petrol extract of Cedrus libani wood. In addition, three resin acids, abietic acid, dehydroabietic acid and isodextropimaric acid were isolated from the same source.

TREE RINGS OF CEDRUS LIBANI AT THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF ITS NATURAL DISTRIBUTION
IAWA Journal, 2003The present study was carried out taking a total of 41 increment cores from three sites located in the northern boundary of Cedrus libani and three site chronologies were constructed. Three response functions were computed and a higher correlation with climate was found in the trees on the steep slopes.

Composition and α-amylase inhibitory effect of essential oils from Cedrus libani
Fitoterapia, 2007The inhibitory activity of alpha-amylase and the phytochemical composition of Cedrus libani essential oils obtained from wood, leaves and cones were investigated. The C. libani woods oil exhibit an IC(50) value of 0.14 mg/ml, whereas the leaves and cones oils were devoid of any significant activity.

Forest Ecology and Management, 2003Abstract Lebanon cedar ( Cedrus libani A. Rich.) is significant from the historical, cultural, aesthetic, scientific and economic perspectives. It is presently found primarily in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey with extensive and magnificent forests. Historical records also indicate extensive and splendid forests of it in Syria and Lebanon.
