Endoscopic Removal of a Toothpick Penetrating the Gastric Wall and Extending Into the Head of the Pancreas: A Case Report and Brief Literature Review

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 7, Issue 1, April 2027.
ABSTRACT Ingested toothpicks can perforate the gastrointestinal tract and penetrate adjacent organs. Pancreatic involvement is rare, and its management varies between surgical and endoscopic interventions. We report the successful endoscopic removal of a toothpick that penetrated the gastric wall and extended into the head of the pancreas.

Clinical Outcomes and Patient Experiences With Celiprolol Therapy in Vascular Ehlers–Danlos Syndrome: The First Non‐European Cohort

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, Volume 200, Issue 10, Page 2241-2249, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Vascular Ehlers–Danlos syndrome (vEDS) is a hereditary connective tissue disorder caused by heterozygous pathogenic variants in COL3A1. European studies have shown that celiprolol may reduce the risk of life‐threatening vascular events, but outcomes in non‐European populations and the therapy's psychological impact remain unclear. We conducted

Multifrequency Magnetic Resonance Elastography of the Abdominal Aortic Wall: Segmental, Positional and Flow Effects

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 10, October 2026.
In vivo abdominal aortic wall–specific MRE enables reproducible wall stiffness mapping while minimizing the intraluminal signal interference, revealing segment‐ and posture‐dependent stiffness patterns that complement morphology and flow measures for clinical evaluation of abdominal aortic wall health.

Exercise and Autonomic Cardiovascular Function—Insights From Spinal Cord‐Injured Humans: A Narrative Review

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The cardiovascular response to acute exercise is mediated by the autonomic nervous system (ANS) control mechanisms that modulate vascular resistance to support blood pressure and ensure adequate blood flow to active muscles. These autonomic neurocirculatory control mechanisms include a feedforward mechanism, known as central command, and three
