Prostate cancer is a leading malignancy with significant clinical heterogeneity in men. An 11‐gene signature derived from dysregulated epithelial cell markers effectively predicted biochemical recurrence‐free survival in patients who underwent radical surgery or radiotherapy.

MET variants in the N‐lobe of the kinase domain, found in hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma, require ligand stimulation to promote cell transformation, in contrast to other RTK variants. This suggests that HGF expression in the microenvironment is important for tumor growth in such patients. Their sensitivity to MET inhibitors opens the way for

The progressive decrease of mean SCC in dairy herds worldwide is affecting SCC accuracy as a subclinical mastitis marker. This evidence supports studies aiming to apply differential cell count (DSCC) as a tool to identify mastitis.

NAD+ regeneration by mitochondrial complex I NADH dehydrogenase is important for cancer cell proliferation. Specifically, NAD+ is necessary for the activities of NAD+‐dependent deacetylases SIRT3 and SIRT7, which suppress the expression of p21Cip1 cyclin‐dependent kinase inhibitor, an antiproliferative molecule, at the translational and transcriptional

Absolute lymphocyte count: A cost-effective method of monitoring HIV-infected individuals
Aim: Depletion of CD4 cell count is a hallmark of disease progression in AIDS. CD4 cell count is essential for physicians to decide about the timing of initiation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) and for prophylaxis of opportunistic infections.

People, Penguins and Petri Dishes: Adapting Object Counting Models To New Visual Domains And Object Types Without Forgetting [PDF]
In this paper we propose a technique to adapt a convolutional neural network (CNN) based object counter to additional visual domains and object types while still preserving the original counting function. Domain-specific normalisation and scaling operators are trained to allow the model to adjust to the statistical distributions of the various visual ...
