Synergistic Molecular Engineering Strategies for Enhancing Diffusion Kinetics and Interfacial Stability of the δ‐MnO2 Cathode in Aqueous Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
We developed a δ‐MnO2@2‐ML cathode material for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries, utilizing 2‐ML interlayer modulation and interface engineering, that not only increases the layer spacing and promotes the diffusion of Zn2+, but also stabilizes the surface Mn sites and inhibits the dissolution of Mn.

Why Engineers Should Read More Novels

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
What do engineers do? And what should they work on? A surprising answer is outlined in this essay, which argues that reading novels holds the key for addressing both questions. Novels train the imagination as well as our ethical abilities – skills that are essential for developing future‐proof technologies.

Considerations in Transition of Pediatric Neurology Patients to Adult Care

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Transition refers to the planned, coordinated movement of adolescents from the child‐ and family‐centered environment of pediatric care to the adult healthcare system. A well‐structured transition process is essential for ensuring adolescents with chronic health conditions continue to thrive in young adulthood.

Robinow syndrome DVL1 variants disrupt morphogenesis and appendage formation in a Drosophila disease model

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Robinow syndrome is a rare developmental syndrome caused by variants in genes in Wnt signaling pathways. We previously showed that expression of patient variants in Dishevelled 1 (DVL1) in Drosophila and chicken models disrupts the balance of canonical and non‐canonical Wnt signaling.
