Molecular and epistatic interactions between pioneer transcription factors shape nucleosome dynamics and cell differentiation

open access: yesNature Communications
Pioneer transcription factors (TF) bind nucleosome-embedded DNA motifs to activate new regulatory elements and promote differentiation. However, the complexity, binding dependencies and temporal effects of their action remain unclear.

Enhanced Proapoptotic Effects of Water Dispersed Complexes of 4-Thiazolidinone-Based Chemotherapeutics with a PEG-Containing Polymeric Nanocarrier

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2019
Aim To study whether water formulation of the complex of 4-thiazolidinone derivatives with a PEG-containing polymeric nanocarrier enhances their pro-apoptotic action towards rat glioma C6 cells.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A redox switch in p21-CDK feedback during G2 phase controls the proliferation-cell cycle exit decision. [PDF]

open access: yes
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) influence cell proliferation and fate decisions by oxidizing cysteine residues (S-sulfenylation) of proteins, but specific targets and underlying regulatory mechanisms remain poorly defined.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Effect of p21Waf1 and p27Kip1 on centrosome replication and proliferation of breast cancer cell [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Aberrant centrosome numbers are detected in virtually all cancers, increasing the risk for cell division errors and chromosomal instability.

A characterization of four B16 murine melanoma cell sublines molecular fingerprint and proliferation behavior [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Background: One of the most popular and versatile model of murine melanoma is by inoculating B16 cells in the syngeneic C57BL6J mouse strain. A characterization of different B16 modified cell sub-lines will be of real practical interest.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Stochastic mathematical models of cell proliferation assays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cell proliferation assays are routinely used to study collective cell behaviour, and can be interpreted with mathematical models. In this thesis, we apply a computational Bayesian technique to calibrate stochastic discrete mathematical models of cell ...

TLR7/8 signaling activation enhances the potency of human pluripotent stem cell-derived eosinophils in cancer immunotherapy for solid tumors

open access: yesExperimental Hematology & Oncology
Background Efficient tumor T-cell infiltration is crucial for the effectiveness of T-cell-based therapies against solid tumors. Eosinophils play crucial roles in recruiting T cells in solid tumors.
