Dielectrophoretic separation of cells: Continuous separation

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 1995
AbstractDielectrophoresis is the movement of particles in non‐uniform alternating and direct current (AC, DC) electric fields. When nonuniform electric fields are created between microelectrodes, cells will redistribute themselves around the electrodes, the force holding the cells in place dependig on the local electric field and on the electrical ...

A separability parameter for dielectrophoretic cell separation

ELECTROPHORESIS, 2013
In this study, a separability parameter is introduced to determine the selection of optimum operating parameters for DEP separation of a cell pair. The separability parameter is defined as a function of cells’ Clausius–Mossotti (CM) factors. T‐cell leukemia Jurkat and mouse melanoma B16 cells are tested to validate the separability parameter.

Biophysics of cell separations

Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, 1975
To the Chemist, it has long been second nature to work with separate, purified substances. Biochemists and molecular biologists have now largely achieved the same working position, with their powerful separation techniques of ultracentrifugation, electrophoresis, chromatography and the like.
