Near‐Sensor Analog Computing via Monolithic 3D Piezoelectric Sensor–FeFET for Tactile Sensing System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolithic 3D‐integrated tactile system combines a piezoelectric sensor and ferroelectric field‐effect transistor (FeFET) to process both static and dynamic pressure signals directly at the sensor node. The system enables in‐sensor analog noise filtering with multi‐level memory states, achieving high sensitivity and ultra‐low power operation (≈10 nW),

Bioinspired Design of a Wet‐Adhesive Cornea Glue Based on Recombinant Human Protein Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Natures protein‐based high performance materials e.g. elastin, silk and muscle proteins have been mimicked by a new protein‐hybrid material based on redesigned human partial sequences only, showing high wet‐adhesiveness and elasticity for biomedical applications.

Synchronization of cellular automaton pairs

Chaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 1998
The phenomenon of synchronization in pairs of cellular automata coupled in a driver–replica mode is studied. Necessary and sufficient conditions for synchronization in linear cellular automaton pairs are given. The couplings that make a pair synchronize are determined for all linear elementary cellular automata.

A Soliton Cellular Automaton

Journal of the Physical Society of Japan, 1990
A cellular automaton (CA) of filter automata type is proposed. Any state of the CA consists only of solitary wave solutions. It is shown that the solitary waves interact with one another preserving their identities during a time evolution. It is also shown that the CA has infinitely many conserved quantities.

A Morphogenetic Cellular Automaton

2018 Annual American Control Conference (ACC), 2018
How are cell proliferation and cell migration controlled to generate an embryo (and, subsequently, a fetus) with organized tissues and organs? Growth factors are crucial signaling molecules that can diffuse over a long distance to target cells and induce cell proliferation, differentiation and migration.

A Cellular Automaton [PDF]

open access: possible, 1999
What is in this chapter? Cellular automata are widely used models in mathematical physics and in theoretical biology. These systems start from a random state and then evolve using deterministic rules, with time being discrete. We concentrate on a specific model in this chapter. We define the initial configuration as follows.
