Facial cellulitis causing superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis in a diabetic ketoacidosis patient

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ophthalmology and Research, 2018
Diabetic ketoacidosis can present with a variety of infections. We present a case of rapidly progressive facial cellulitis complicated with superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis (SOVT) and diabetic ketoacidosis.

Semi-continuité des cellules de Kazhdan-Lusztig [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
Computations in small Coxeter groups and infinite dihedral groups suggest that Kazhdan-Lusztig cells for unequal parameters obey to some "semicontinuity" phenomenon (as the parameter vary). The aim of this paper is to provide a rigorous theoretical background that allows to state some precise conjectures.

Towards a Better Modelling of the Cell Formation Problem: An Overview of Decisions and a Critical analysis of Constraints and Objectives [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Cell formation problem is among the first obstacles the designer of cellular production systems must overcome. This paper presents a critical analysis of the various criteria and constraints considered in the literature. The objective is to help any researcher who wants to model the problem by adopting a multi-criteria approach.

The Interconnected World of Dermatology and Ophthalmology

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Medicine is a dynamic field that constantly discovers new links between different specialties. Dermatology and Ophthalmology are two related branches of medicine, having many similarities and interactions. The skin and the eyes both encounter various environmental challenges, such as ultraviolet radiation, allergens, infections, and trauma ...

Bilateral cellulitis [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2015
We present a case of bilateral lesions in a 50-year-old man, which were on first impression mistaken for and initially treated as bilateral cellulitis. We propose that bilateral cellulitis, as opposed to unilateral, is rare and that other aetiologies should be considered in evaluating a patient with bilateral lesions.

Polyhedrons and PBIBDs from hyperbolic manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
By taking quotients of a certain tiling of hyperbolic plane / space by certain group actions, we obtain geometric polyhedra / cellulations with interesting symmetries and incidence structure.

On the algebraic properties of exponentially stable integrable hamiltonian systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Steepness is a geometric property which, together with complex-analyticity, is needed in order to insure stability of a near-integrable hamiltonian system over exponentially long times. Following a strategy developed by Nekhoro-shev, we construct sufficient algebraic conditions for steepness for a given function that involve algebraic equations on its ...

Comorbidities of Primary Scarring Alopecias: A Retrospective Multi‐Site Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background To date, limited research has compared the systemic comorbidities of primary scarring alopecia types. Such research may provide insight into shared disease mechanisms, elucidate novel pathways for therapeutics, and identify those most at risk of comorbidities.

Characteristics and Antibiotic Treatment of Patients with Cellulitis in the Emergency Department

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background: Cellulitis is a common infection in Emergency Departments (EDs), and unclear diagnostics may lead to unnecessary treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics. The aim of this study was to characterize patients with cellulitis admitted to the ED,

Evaluating the Laboratory Risk Indicator to Differentiate Cellulitis from Necrotizing Fasciitis in the Emergency Department

open access: yesWestern Journal of Emergency Medicine, 2017
Introduction Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is an uncommon but rapidly progressive infection that results in gross morbidity and mortality if not treated in its early stages.
