Enhancement of separation performance of asymmetric cellulose acetate membrane for produced water treatment using response surface methodology [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2018
Produced water is the wastewater generated from the process of exploration in oil and gas production, which needs special treatment. A membrane with cellulose acetate is widely used for produced water treatment, but further developments and improvements ...

Microblasting Wound Dressings Mechanically Disrupt Polymicrobial Biofilms to Enhance Healing in Treatment‐Resistant Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Treatment‐resistant wounds caused by polymicrobial biofilms are refractory to conventional therapies due to the dense extracellular matrices. We developed μBLAST, a microblasting wound dressing that combines MnO2‐doped biosilica and a H2O2‐releasing mesh to generate localized oxygen microbubbles that mechanically disrupt biofilms.

Synthesis and characterisation of TiO2 nanofibre/cellulose acetate nanocomposite ultrafiltration membrane

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Nanoscience, 2017
Nanofibres of TiO2 were synthesised by hydrothermal routine. Cellulose acetate/TiO2 nanofibre composite membranes were synthesised via blending TiO2 nanofibre in cellulose acetate solutions in 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidone.

Rheology and Microstructure of Cellulose Acetate in Mixed Solvent Systems

open access: yes, 2005
Cellulose is a natural abundant polymer used in a variety of applications. Its use however, is hampered by its poor solubility in various solvents. This is primarily due to the hydrogen bonds between the hydroxyl groups on the anhydoglucose chain.

A Phase‐Resolved Geometric Deep Learning Framework Maps Structural Determinants of Disease‐Associated Protein Aggregation and Guides Suppressor Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SKALE 2.0 maps disease‐associated protein aggregation as a phase‐resolved structural process, linking mutation‐induced geometric perturbations to nucleation, elongation, and suppressor design. Across neurodegenerative proteins, the framework reveals cryptic aggregation vulnerabilities, separates phase‐concordant and phase‐switching mutations, and ...

Biomimetic Macrophage Cell Membrane‐Based Nanoparticles for Effective Treatment of Glioblastoma Through Boron Neutron Capture Therapy Combined With Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains largely incurable due to the blood‐brain barrier (BBB) and immunosuppressive microenvironment. While boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) selectively eradicates tumor cells via 10B(n, α)‐7Li reactions, its clinical potential in GBM is unrealized because of the suboptimal pharmacokinetics of conventional ...
