Bacterial Cellulose Nanocrystals-Embedded Silk Nanofibers
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2012Nanofibrous Bacterial cellulose nanocrystals (BCNs)-embedded silk fibroin were successfully fabricated using electrospinning. The morphology, structure and mechanical properties of the silk fibroin nanofibers were investigated at various BCNs concentrations from 0 to 7 wt%.

Cellulose Nanofibers Prepared by TEMPO-Mediated Oxidation of Native Cellulose
Biomacromolecules, 2007Never-dried and once-dried hardwood celluloses were oxidized by a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical (TEMPO)-mediated system, and highly crystalline and individualized cellulose nanofibers, dispersed in water, were prepared by mechanical treatment of the oxidized cellulose/water slurries.
