Geography and ecology shape the phylogenetic composition of Amazonian tree communities
Abstract Aim Amazonia hosts more tree species from numerous evolutionary lineages, both young and ancient, than any other biogeographic region. Previous studies have shown that tree lineages colonized multiple edaphic environments and dispersed widely across Amazonia, leading to a hypothesis, which we test, that lineages should not be strongly ...

Comparison of forages’ digestion levels for different in vitro digestion techniques in horses
The in vitro total enzymatic + fermentative digestion technique for horse forages revealed higher values than the in vitro fermentative digestion techniques. In general, the higher the non‐structural carbohydrate and crude protein contents in the forage, the higher the results of the in vitro TDT compared to the other techniques.

Homogenization based heating control for moist paperboard with evaporation on the pore surface
Abstract A control problem for the heating of moist paperboard with the evaporation of moisture from the inner pore surface is considered. The microstructure of the paperboard is known from the CT images. It is easily parametrized w.r.t. the volume fraction of the pores, the surface area of the pores related to the unit volume, averaged area of the ...
